WELCOME TO HANOVER, THE IDEAL LOCATION FOR THE BEST WORK-LIFE-BALANCE

Hanover -

ECONOMY, TRAINING, LIFE and LEISURE

Take a stroll through the Herrenhäuser Gardens and the charming streets of the Old Town, through the various Christmas markets, or relax and unwind whilst enjoying Europe's largest city forest – Hanover has something for everyone. The lively city centre invites you to shop till you drop, before stopping off for some sustenance at one of the many restaurants and cafés. Hanover has international flair as a trade fair and event city and as the origin of innovative ideas, successful start-ups and excellent training. Hanover has an excellent reputation in this regard.

HANOVER – CENTRAL LOCATION IN GERMANY

The central location is one of Hanover's numerous assets:

Its direct location on both the A2 and A7 motorways, the ICE network of the Deutsche Bahn and the international airport ensure that Hanover is quickly and easily accessible. The excellent infrastructure in town not only makes Hanover a popular destination, but also the ideal starting point for excursions to the Lüneburg Heath, the Harz mountains or to the historical cities of Lower Saxony such as Celle, Goslar or Hamlin.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS IN HANOVER

Three Christmas markets give the entire city centre a festive atmosphere. In the old town, next to the Marktkirche, over 190 stalls sell Christmas decorations, arts and crafts and Christmas specialities. On the Ballhofplatz, a Finnish Christmas village lures you in to take a break by the campfire. In the historic village on the old city wall, craftsmen offer an insight into their skills. In the midst of the "Wishing Well Forest", a golden ring at the Oskar Winter Fountain ensures that wishes come true. One of the largest pedestrian zones in Germany offers a huge selection of shops and other locales – the ideal prerequisites for a Christmas shopping trip.

47,000 students IN HANOVER

Hanover is characterized by a diverse university and research community – of world-class scientific calibre and degree programs in virtually all subjects. With around 28,000 students, the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover is Lower Saxony's second largest university. The Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (MHH) [Hanover Medical School], which sets international standards with innovative transplantation medicine, is world-renowned. Other programs such as the Hochschule Hannover, the Tierärztliche Hochschule [University of Veterinary Medicine] or the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (HMTMH) [University of Music, Drama and Media Hanover] provide a wide range of courses – from economics, law and medicine, through science and technology, to the humanities and arts.

Hanover – the location for start-ups

As a "start-up city," Hanover has unique strengths. The established large companies, which shape the city as a manufacturing hub, benefit from the innovation-driven culture of the many young start-ups – which in turn find attractive customers, coaches and collaboration partners in the companies and corporations.

Central business location: MADE IN HANOVER

In order to choose a location, you need facts: The Hanover region is one of the leading economic areas in northern Germany. This is where the most important roads and railway connections in Europe intersect. Its future prospects as an industrial location and service metropolis, paired with its impressive retail space and role as a commercial hub, are outstanding.

Well-known brands and global corporations give the economic region additional international appeal: Bahlsen, KIND Hörgeräte, Komatsu-Hanomag, MTU Maintenance, Rossmann, Sennheiser electronic, Solvay Deutschland and TUI are all based here. Of particular importance are the automotive industry (Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Continental, Johnson Controls and WABCO) as well as the insurance and financial services industry (Concordia, VGH, VHV, Talanx with brands such as Hannover RE and Swiss Life, NORD/LB).

In addition to corporations, mid-sized companies and many smaller companies, a thriving start-up scene complements the Hanover business location.

THE TRADE FAIR AND CONGRESS METROPOLIS IN THE HEART OF EUROPE
