Monday November 30th: Participants at the sixteenth session of the UNIDO General Conference taking place this week in the Austrian capital, Vienna, are discussing how sustainable industrialization can bring about shared prosperity. They will look at inclusive and sustainable industrial development and its role in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals.
One of the key speakers will be Nobel Prize winner in economics, Joseph Stiglitz. He and other participants are also expected to touch upon the COP21 Climate Summit taking into consideration that the imperatives of sustainable development and climate change are closely linked to each other – and to industrialization. They'll look at the challenges and solutions industry offers.
