World’s Largest Drone QR Code Lights up Saudi Arabia Skies in Spectacular Style to Mark Launch of Kingdom’s First Electric Vehicle Company

  • Scannable QR code appears in the sky above Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh
  • Illuminated drones lit up the night sky in Riyadh to mark the launch of Saudi Arabia’s first ever electric vehicle brand, Ceer
  • 1,346 single multirotor drones break Guinness World Record for world’s largest ever drone QR code

The skies of Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, were transformed in spectacular style recently, as history was made with the world’s largest QR code made by drones smashing into the Guinness World Record books.

With a staggering 1,346 single multirotor drones illuminating the sky, the activation took place to highlight the first ever Saudi electric vehicle brand to launch in the Kingdom, Ceer.

Forming various images around sustainability from electric cars to wind turbines to Arabic calligraphy, the major spectacle also formed a scannable QR code, linking back to Ceers’ website.

The Guinness World Record-breaking drone display wowed thousands of people who had gathered to watch the event, which took place at the most popular entertainment venue in Saudi Arabia, Boulevard Riyadh City.

Illuminating the sky, Ceer set the new record to celebrate its mission to create a sustainable National Automotive Company to ignite the Kingdom’s automotive ecosystem and generate a new source of jobs for Saudi talent. It also aims to design, build and sell aspirational battery electric vehicles for Saudi and other Gulf customers, with innovative solutions that are affordable, reliable and state-of-the-art.
