1. SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH) Michael Kahane, AHF Bureau Chief, Southern Region

“What's up, Florida? I'm Michael Kahane and I am the Southern Bureau Chief for AIDS Healthcare Foundation on behalf of AHF. I want to thank you for being here today. Your dedication and hard work reminds us that we are not alone in this fight. This event is very special to our community. Every dollar raised helps more than ten local AIDS service organizations provide additional services in the Broward County area so they can continue to enhance the lives of many.”

2. SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH) Ebonni Chrispin, Legislative Affairs and Community Engagement Director for AHF South

“My name is Ebony Chrispin and I'm the Legislative Affairs and Community Engagement director for AHF South. I have been doing this work since 2017 and as AHF President Michael Weinstein. Has had a vision to combat the homelessness crisis that our country currently is facing. Six years ago, AHF and Michael Weinstein and the board decided to take the plunge and address the housing issues that are plaguing not only our country but South Florida specifically. I was just telling a story the other day. There's an apartment complex going up in Wilton Manors that for a studio apartment, it's $2100. Who can afford $2100? Who are these people? So we need to be able to fight back and demand that our legislators locally and at a state level and federally are doing more in order to address low income and very low income housing.”

It's Florida AIDS Walk. It's an institution in our community. This year we're here supporting World AIDS Museum and Education Center, anything you want to add? And I think it's an opportunity to build community and let people know that this kind of this kind of work is so important. It's really important to build awareness and getting together and, you know, being here for a good cause.”
