EU Aid Volunteers is a European Union's initiative that provides practical support to humanitarian aid projects by bringing together skilled volunteers and non-governmental organisations.
Launched in 2015, the initiative creates opportunities for EU citizens to volunteer in humanitarian aid projects around the world. Volunteers receive training before and during their deployment, so they can provide tangible assistance to communities at risk or those affected by disaster. By the end of 2019, around 750 volunteers are expected to be deployed in 28 non-EU countries.
In Colombia, EU Aid Volunteers work across the country, supporting communities in locations from the teeming capital of Bogotá to the desert border town of Maicao.
