- Confusing tariffs are a problem of the past: One app for 23 countries and strong price advantages for HPC charging with IONITY PASSPORT tariffs
- New: charging stops can be optimally planned with the IONITY route planner
Munich, Germany, July 4, 2024 - Summertime is travel time: The beginning of July is the start of the summer holidays in 16 European countries – and more and more people are using electric cars for the most beautiful weeks of the year. IONITY offers one of the largest European fast-charging networks and an app for 23 countries. Access to the charging station, charging and payment are therefore simple, reliable and, with the newly launched IONITY PASSPORT POWER tariff, particularly inexpensive.
Save money on vacation: with IONITY PASSPORT POWER and PASSPORT MOTION
With the IONITY PASSPORT tariffs, IONITY customers save money throughout Europe. The IONITY PASSPORT POWER tariff, which pays for itself after the first full charge, is ideal for longer vacation trips. With a monthly fee of EUR 11.99, charging prices per kilowatt hour (kWh) start at EUR 0.26 in Norway, EUR 0.39/kWh in Germany, EUR 0.33/kWh in France and GBP 0.43/kWh in the UK. The IONITY website transparently displays the charging prices per country. A reduced basic tariff of EUR 7.99 applies for the first month. In addition, IONITY's PASSPORT MOTION is an offer for everyone that pays off from the very first charging session: for EUR 5.99/month (first month reduced to EUR 3.99), e-car drivers can charge from EUR 0.33/kWh in Norway, EUR 0.49/kWh in Germany or EUR 0.39/kWh in France.
Another new feature is IONITY's route planner, which can be used to plan charging stops as relaxing breaks with outdoor experiences. This way, your vacation already starts on the way!
The IONITY fast charging network is growing
IONITY is well prepared for the summer travel wave. Over 50 new charging parks have been opened along European travel routes since the start of the year. The network now comprises almost 4,000 high-power charging (HPC) fast-charging points with up to 350 kilowatts (kW) of charging power - an increase of 800 fast-charging points. On long trips and in everyday life, an average break of 25-30 minutes at the IONITY High-Power-Charging stations is enough to recharge the electric car's battery from 20 to 80%.
Often it doesn't have to be that quick, because IONITY's charging parks also offer impressive dining options. In Merklingen near Ulm, one of the main routes from Western Europe to Switzerland, Italy and Croatia, there is a Burger King and a bakery nearby. The important Montélimar hub on the "Autoroute du Soleil", which leads from Paris to the Côte d'Azur, has also just been expanded, and in Bodmin in the county of Cornwall, IONITY has closed an important gap in the fast-charging network to the most popular destinations in the UK.
Further tips for the optimum charging experience in warm temperatures
- A battery temperature in the range of 20 to 30 degrees Celsius is ideal for battery activity and therefore the charging speed.
- Range anxiety is unwarranted given the large number of charging stations in Europe. IONITY stations can already be found every 120 km along highways and travel routes.
- The most efficient way to charge the battery is from 20 to 80% and continue driving quickly. This is because the charging speed drops from a state of charge (SoC) of 80%.
- The optimum tire pressure reduces energy consumption and increases the range - this also applies to the economical use of the air conditioning system.
With IONITY, electric travel will be more convenient, reliable and affordable than ever this summer. Comprehensive coverage with new charging parks and fast-charging points, transparent and affordable prices for PASSPORT tariffs and a practical route planner make long vacation trips worry-free. IONITY sets new standards for e-mobility and offers electric car drivers in Europe the ideal solution for stress-free charging and traveling.
