Azersun Holding, the Sustainable Growth Partner of COP29, has taken center stage in the Green Zone, showcasing its innovative projects and thought leadership on sustainability.

 

Azersun Holding, the Sustainable Growth Partner of COP29, has taken center stage in the Green Zone, showcasing its innovative projects and thought leadership on sustainability. As part of its COP29 involvement, Azersun organized four panel discussions in the Green Zone and one in the Blue Zone, addressing key global challenges like water conservation, sustainable agriculture, and the transition to renewable energy.

Notable sessions included “Empowering the Transition: Financing Tomorrow’s Energy Today”, “ENABLERS OF FUTURE SUSTAINABILITY: NURTURING CLIMATE CHAMPIONS FOR CLIMATE ACTION”, “AI and Emerging Technologies: Empowering a Sustainable Future Through Innovation” and “From Consumerism to Circularity: Addressing Overconsumption through Resource Efficiency,” featuring insights from top Azersun executives and global sustainability experts.

In the Blue Zone, Azersun co-hosted a panel “WATER RESILIENCE AND CLIMATE CHANGE. IMPACTS ON AGRICULTURE, INFRASTRUCUTRE AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY” focused on water management, collaborating with international organizations to share actionable strategies for mitigating climate risks in agriculture. and importance of CSR projects.

Visitors to the Azersun pavilion experienced in-depth discussions on groundbreaking technologies, such as water restructuring innovations reducing agricultural water use by up to 40%, and platforms like EcoNar, a circular economy enabler, and Eco19, a social app fostering individual and community sustainability. These initiatives underscore Azersun’s role in promoting resource optimization and ESG compliance globally.

“ECO19 is an educational platform which is going to help us educate our farmers, and also we are planning to share it with government authorities, institutions and private companies in the future as well.”

Throughout COP29, guests were also treated to the iconic hospitality of Azersun’s renowned Azercay tea brand, served in both the Green and Blue Zones. The tea symbolized Azerbaijani tradition and culture, creating a warm atmosphere for dialogue and networking among delegates and visitors alike.

Operating in Azerbaijan since 1991, Azersun Holding has implemented impactful recycling projects, conserving millions of resources annually. Its Waste Paper Recycling Factory alone saves 850,000 trees each year, reflecting its steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship.

And also with our sustainability project, with our recycling project, we are collecting 50,000 tonnes of paper from the different sources, you know, all over Azerbaijan. And we are recycling them to use, raw material for our cardboard factory.

 

“By collecting this 50,000 tonnes of cardboard, we are saving 850,000 trees every year. And, of course, we are also reducing the import of such products from outside of Azerbaijan.”
