The VSY Biotechnology R&D Center has announced the release of its new cataract lens, Acriva Trinova, the world's first and only cataract lens manufactured with a Sinusoidal Smooth Surface Pattern. VSY has filed worldwide patent applications for the new lens.
Unlike conventional trifocal lenses, the Acriva Trinova lens surface does not have stepped zones (diffractive rings), providing patients with continuous vision at near, intermediate, and all that is in between. Lenses with the new technology also eliminate vision problems and other side effects caused by the optical structure of ordinary conventional trifocal lenses with stepped zones.
The new lens will also improve vision after surgery in cases of fibrosis and tilts. VSY Biotechnology Chairman Dr. Ercan Varlıbas stated that the Sinusoidal Seamless Vision Technology (SVT) lens is one of the most groundbreaking inventions in the world of ophthalmology over the last 50 years. "With advances in patient vision care made possible by Acriva Trinova, more ophthalmologists will use this seamless vision lens, and more patients will benefit.”
Acriva Trinova’s sinusoidal structure facilitates the lens application, making it tolerant to lens power measurements deviation (biometry measurement). In addition to its Smooth Sinusoidal Surface, it also prevents light scattering at night, caused by ordinary conventional trifocal lenses with stepped zones.
Dr. Varlıbaş confirmed that the release of this Acriva Trinova signals significant expansion of research and development activity at VSY Biotechnology, with additional innovations in the pipeline.
