VOLUM-e, a subsidiary of the MMB group has recently built an EOS M 400, the first machine of high capacity direct metal laser melting (DMLS) at EOS, the world leader of Additive Metal Manufacturing solutions. The system offers a manufacturing platform of 400 x 400 x 360 mm and allows the industrial production of large metal parts in high quality, directly from CAD data and without tools.

In 1994, VOLUM-e invested in the first machine for Plastic Additive Manufacturing and has since built 14 new industrial 3D printers for plastic and metal.

André Surel, Regional Director of EOS France said, "VOLUM-e is a pioneer in France in metal laser melting and has one of the largest machines in France. Their experience and knowledge of technology are remarkable."

VOLUM-e is one of the few French companies to be qualified for the additive manufacturing of parts by groups such as Thales and Safran (ISO 9001: 2008 and EN 9100). Certification for Aerospace involves at least control of seven key factors; the control of powders, products, processes, security of production, maintenance (environmental aspects) and training of personnel.

France Desjonqueres, Managing Director of the Group MMB / VOLUM-e adds; "In 2016, Volum-e inaugurates its new facility of 1000 m2 allowing it to expand its production capacity and diversify its means. Initially specialising in rapid proto-typing, Volum-e adds an EOS M 400 to its production facilities, and can now offer industrial production capacity in line with the 4.0 industry."
