”Siemens is a forerunner both in Sweden and in Additive Manufacturing when it comes to the development and production of advanced metal components in the power industry. Through this long-term investment into AM we build up skills and experiences that may lead to new ideas and development in the field.” says Hans Holmström, CEO for Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery.

By using AM, Siemens can develop new, improved components and can carry out repairs significantly faster, for instance burner tips for their SGT-800 industrial gas turbines,. Repair times can be shortened substantially from months to a couple of days or weeks and responses to customer demands as such can be further improved.

Dr. Adrian Keppler, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at EOS adds: “Siemens is an important strategic customer for us. As a technology enabler we are proud to cooperate with them for the Finspång facility and beyond. As an experienced industry partner they provide us with valuable feedback which we then incorporate in further system development of our Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology.”
