“Remote 2-Way Communication” – Workshop Taking Place on March 31, 2016 in Novi, Michigan
Munich, Germany, March 5, 2016 -- ASAM, an international technical standardization organization in automotive electronics and automated testing, announces plans to expand its work scope to include "Telematics". The member organization Cummins Inc. has approached ASAM with the request to further document common use cases relating to over-the-air communication.
As a first step, Cummins Inc. and ASAM will co-host a workshop on “Remote 2-Way Communication” taking place on March 31, 2016 in Novi, Michigan. All global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier-1 suppliers (members and non-members) are invited to participate and to discuss standardization potential in the areas of:
• telematics security
• remote software / calibration updates
• remote adjustment
• remote diagnostics
• prognostics
• Big Data exchange services.
The workshop will create a common understanding of the challenges and potential paths to solutions that can be addressed by a standardization project.
